Insects bite people
either because they are hungry and you are the food (as in the case of mosquitoes
and fleas), or because they see you as a threat (bees and wasps). For whatever
reason, the fact is that these stings are very annoying and sometimes painful.
Credit
Card - If a bee stings, remove the sting using a credit card. The sting contains
a little sack that pumps poison, so removing it would be the first thing to do.
Be very careful not to break it, otherwise the poison will spill and it will be
painful. Plantain
leaves - Mince a few plantain leaves and rub the juice directly on the bite. Garlic,
onions, or tobacco - To alleviate a wasp bite, cut a clove of garlic in half
or an onion and rub the affected area. Another option is to apply the tobacco
of a cigarette mixed with a little water. This relieves pain and inflammation.
Vinegar
or baking soda - For wasp stings, apply vinegar. For bee stings, apply a solution
of baking soda dissolved in water. You can apply it with a cotton swab and cover
with a band aid. Meat
tenderizer - Make a paste with meat tenderizer and water and apply on the
bite. Eucalyptus
seeds - To avoid mosquito bites, especially during summer nights, put some
crushed eucalyptus seeds under your pillow. Papaya
- has enzymes that neutralize the poison. Apply a slice of papaya on the bite
for an hour.
Essential
oils: Lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, and clove relieve swelling
and itching. Apply a small amount with a cotton swab into the bite. Ice:
To relieve itching wrap some ice cubes in a napkin and put on the affected area.
Apple
cider vinegar and cloves - For a good mosquito repellant, fill half a cup
with apple cider vinegar and add a few cloves. Rub on the skin. Honey
- Make a mixture with a teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of honey, and two teaspoons
of warm water. Apply on the bite and massage gently. For
jellyfish stings - Wash with saltwater. Do not use freshwater because this
will activate stinging cells. Apply vinegar, alcohol, or ammonia. |
