Various Remedies

Preserving health and beauty is not something that is done easily. It takes discipline, concentration, and willpower. Four factors are essential for good health and looking great: a good diet, moderate exercise, a positive mood, and enough rest (hours of sleep before midnight are worth double while hours of sleep after midnight are worth half an hour).

Here are some recipes for which I do not have a category in particular but I think they could come in handy.

For tired feet:

Ingredients: Baking soda, 1 tablespoon salt, 10 drops of lavender essence.
Preparation and Use: Prepare two containers, one with hot water and another with cold water. Put a bit of ingredients in each. Soak and alternate feet, first in the hot and then in the cold.

To relieve sore muscles:

Ingredients: Epsom salts in a tub of warm water.
Preparation and Use: If you have exercised a lot and your muscles are sore give yourself a tub bath with warm water and Epsom salts.

To combat head lice:

Ingredients: Rue
Preparation and use:

Put a large handful of rue in one litre water. Boil for 20 minutes. Apply directly to the scalp with a rigourous massage.

For varicose veins:

Ingredients: lemon juice, 3 tablespoons olive oil, and 6 garlic cloves.
Preparation and Use: Cut the garlic into thin strips and mix with olive oil and lemon juice. Stir the mixture and put in a glass container with a cork. Let it stand for 12 hours. home-remedies-site.com Apply the garlic ointment after having massaged in a circular motion the affected area.

For hangover:

Ingredients: 1 handful of nettle leaves, 1/4 liter of water, 1 lemon.
Preparation and Use: Boil nettle leaves for five minutes. Strain. Add lemon juice. Drink before breakfast.

Ingredients: 1 cup water, brown sugar.
Preparation and Use: Put brown sugar in water and stir. Take at bedtime.

Beautiful eyelashes:

* To make them grow, apply olive oil before going to bed.
* To make them more flexible and healthy apply chamomile tea with a cotton swab.
* For abundant eyelashes apply lukewarm castor oil on the tips every night.

To remove gum from hair:

Ingredients: Peanut butter
Preparation and Use: Dab abundant peanut butter on the hair, and it should be fairly easy to remove the gum.

To weaken unwanted hair:

Ingredients: Lemons
Preparation and Use: Squeeze the necessary number of lemons to fill half a cup. Allow the juice to air, uncovered for a week. Apply and leave it all night. Shower the next day. Do only at night. Never expose skin to the sun after you have applied lemon to it.

To stop hiccups:

Using acupressure: Squeeze the palm of your hand using the thumb of the other. Another trick is to squeeze the ball under the left thumb with the right thumb and index fingers.

Sugar: Swallow a spoonful of sugar without water.

For hyperactive children:

Apple peels: Boil apple peels for 5 minutes in half a glass of water. Let it cool and have the child drink a cup daily. home-remedies-site.com Another option is feeding the child oatmeal since oatmeal strengthens the nervous system, hence, facilitating self-control.

For short children to grow taller:

Asparagus: Asparagus stimulate the growth of children and teenagers. Eat every day at lunchtime.

To remove stains in the armpits:

Lemon and baking soda: Make a paste of baking soda and lemon and apply in the armpit every day. This paste not only removes the stains but also reduces sweating and odor.
