Curiosities

It has been said that the prolonged use of cell phones could impair short-term memory. Until there is clearer evidence about this, try to keep your cell phone conversations short and occasional.

Natural Remedies for Improving Memory and Intelligence

Not remembering where you left something, forgetting that you had an important appointment, or that it was your significant other's birthday can be very frustrating. Fortunately, there are some tips that you can follow to solve this problem and at the same time feed your brain to stimulate intelligence.

Food for the neurons:
* Phosphorus - blue fish
* Potassium - chicken, skimmed-milk, dairy products, apricots, oranges, bananas, grains and nuts.
* Magnesium - artichoke, spinach, peanut, and wheat germ.
* Slow assimilation glucose - lentils, chickpeas, fruits, and whole grains.

Energizing breakfast - 3 chopped dates, 3 chopped nuts, 1 handful of oats, 1 cup of milk, honey to taste. Mix ingredients and accompany with 1 unpeeled apple.

Liver and onion - Liver, onions, and olive oil. Peel and chop the onion to taste. Put the chopped onion in a pan with the olive oil. Add the liver fillet, cover, and simmer until liver is cooked. Eat twice a week.

Grapes and orange juice - Blend some grapes seeds and everything in a glass of orange juice. Drink during breakfast.

Gingko Biloba - Gingko biloba tablets are very popular to enhance memory. This plant improves blood circulation to the brain which gives more oxygen to brain cells.

Artichoke - Artichoke is the delicacy of the geniuses. It is believed that eating artichokes twice a week increases intelligence and accelerates brain processes.

Listen to music - Listen to varied music, frequently. Also, if you want your children to be smarter, expose them to a variety of music, classical, Andean folk, and so on.

Fish head soup with spinach - In a pot with water put a fish head. Boil over low heat for 1 hour. Add spinach and salt to taste. This is a recipe that my grandmother made for us. It doesn't taste bad at all.

Aromatherapy - In a bowl with hot water, put a few drops of rosemary essential oil and inhale the vapor for five minutes.

Essential oils of ginger, lemon, and mint - Stir all the oils in a bottle with a dropper. Put a droplet in a handkerchief and smell during the day.

Rosemary infusion - Rosemary, water, 1 egg yolk. Boil water and remove from heat. Put rosemary in it and let it stand. Add the egg yolk. If you do not like raw egg (personally, I would not eat it because I have heard that it may contain bacteria) you can drink the rosemary infusion only, three times a day.

Cold water - Go for a walk in cold water that reaches the ankles. Preferably in a river or on the beach. But you can also do it at home in a bathtub with cold water.
