Home Remedies for your Garden

Fertilizers:

Epsom salts - Very good food for your plants.

  • As a fertilizer for your lawn, use 1/2 pound for every thousand square feet
  • For shrubs, sprinkle two tablespoons at the base of each plant.
  • As complementary food for tomatoes and roses, sprinkle one teaspoon for each foot in height, every two weeks.
  • As a garden starter, sprinkle one cup for each 100 square feet and mix well with the soil before planting.

Wood ashes - When you fire up your fireplace, do not throw away the ashes, sprinkle them on your garden.

For roses - When you cook spinach, do not throw away the water. Pour it (if unsalted) on your roses.

Other remedies :

  • If you have a mole problem, drop a few mothballs in their holes.
