Natural Remedies to Remove Ear Wax and Relieve Ear Pain

Whether it's an ear ache or a resonance caused by a block of ear wax, both can be very annoying. The ear pain is usually a problem for children but can also be present in adults. After a cold, fluid can build up in the Eustachian tube, a small tunnel that runs from the middle ear to the throat. This accumulation of fluid is what causes the pain.
On the other hand, when the ear produces a lot of wax a plug forms resulting in sounds in the ear, loss of balance, and difficulty hearing. Some home remedies for these ailments are presented below.

For ear pain:

Baby oil or mineral oil: Heat the oil in hot water. Put a few drops in the affected ear.

Hydrogen peroxide: Put about 3 or 5 drops of hydrogen peroxide in the affected ear every 3 or 4 hours.

Spicy food: A spicy chicken soup or a bowl of chili can be very useful to drain the mucus and relieve the pressure.

Apply heat: Grab a towel soaked in hot water and put it on the affected ear.

Onion: Extract the middle part of 1/2 onion so that the center is hollow. Warm it in the oven and is apply on the affected ear so that the hollow part covers the ear.

Acupressure: Press and massage the point that lies between the pinky finger and the ring finger using the forefinger on the bottom and the thumb on the top.

Garlic: Peel a garlic clove and dip in olive oil. Place it on the ear opening but not all the way inside. Leave throughout the night unless it irritates the skin.

To remove ear wax:

Massage: Massage the area behind the ear in order to loosen the wax. After that, pull on the ear while closing and opening your mouth.

Olive oil: Put a few drops of warm olive oil in the ear and lay on the opposite side so that the oil stays in the affected ear for 15 minutes. Repeat the same procedure three times a day for two or three days.

Hot-water bottle: Fill a hot-water bottle with warm water and lie on it, with the affected ear against the bottle. The ear wax will begin to melt.

Hydrogen peroxide: As in the case of ear pain, hydrogen peroxide can also help remove the wax. home-remedies-site.com Fill a dropper with warm peroxide and lie down so that the affected ear is exposed. Put the hydrogen peroxide in the ear. Wait three minutes and turn to the opposite side so that the liquid drains. Wash the ear using the dropper and warm water. You may also use baby, olive, or mineral oils instead of peroxide.

Clean your ears with a chamomile infusion: Several drops of olive oil, 1 handful of chamomile flowers, 1 cup of water. Prepare a chamomile infusion, strain, and let it cool. Put a few drops of warm olive oil in the affected ear. Wait 5 minutes. Using a pear shape syringe, rinse the ear with a bit of chamomile infusion.

Important

Never use sharp objects such as swabs, q-tips, or your finger to clean the ear. You could puncture the eardrum or push the wax plug deeper.
