If your favorite
shirt got stained, do not throw it away, yet. Try these tips first. *
For whiter clothes, give them a final rinse of ammonia diluted
in water. And hang the garment in the sun.
*
If a garment's dye has stained another, put the stained garment in boiling
water with a pound of unpeeled potatoes until the stain disappears. *
If a garment is stained with oil, apply immediately baby talc
to absorb the oil. Leave for 24 hours and wash as usual. *
If a garment has shrunk, submerge in cold water and add one tablespoon
of ammonia, one of alcohol, and one of turpentine. Let it soak for several hours
checking on it from time to time. Then wash with water. *
If you have faded clothing, soak it in cold water with bay leaves. *
If a garment has gum stuck to it, put it in the freezer for a
day. The next day the gum will be frozen so it will be easy to remove. Another
way is by pouring gasoline on the gum. *
To give your laundry a refreshing smell, add a few drops of lavender
essential oil to the dryer. *
To remove makeup stains, soak the garment in vinegar for a few
minutes before washing it and then wash as usual. |
